Finn was leaning against a tree near the edge of the forest. His backpack was on the ground near his feet. For the first time in a while, he was hyper aware of the ring that he kept on a chain around his neck...

Lilly trudged through the trees to the spot wher eFinn had told her to come. He hadn't told her why, only that she should come just before sunset. And just before sunset it was, as Lilly spotted Finn. She walked over to him, and kissed him, before taking a step back, and looking at him enquiringly.

"Hey," Finn said with a smile. He had his hands in his pockets to hide the fact that they were shaking. He bent down, unzipping his backpack and pulling out the blanket that he had in there. He layed it out on the ground and sat down, motioning for Lilly to do the same.

Lilly frowned, puzzled, and sat down beside Finn, and snuggled up close to him. She tilted her head, and spoke. "What's wrong?"

Finn looked down at Lilly and smiled. "Nothing..." he said, kissing the top of Lilly's head. "I don't think I've said this before, but... I love you. You know that don't you?"

Lilly looked up at Finn, kissed him, and spoke. "Finn, of course I know that. I love you too"

Finn smiled. He looked away, toward the sun which had just started to set. After a moment, he pulled the chain that he kept around his neck over his head and played with it for a moment before taking the ring off.

Lilly looked at Finn, and saw him take a ring off his chain-necklace. Her eyes widened. No, surely he couldn't be?

Finn looked at Lilly for a moment before shifting his body so that he was kneeling in front of her. "Lilly... a lot of men would start some long speech about how much he loves a woman..." Finn started. "But... why go through all that, when all it really takes is three simple words. I love you." He held the ring out toward her. "Will you marry me?"

Lilly stared at Finn, then the ring. She was speachless. Lilly started breathing deeply, everything was going blurry. The sounds of the forest were echoing slightly, as though they were in a far off place. Lilly's surroundings were spinning - but Lilly took hold of herself. Lilly easily fainted, even at small things, and even though this was a big thing, Lilly could stop herself from fainting. She took a deep breath, and answered. "Yes!" And thrust her arms around Finn and kissed him.

Finn smiled and kissed Lilly back. After a moment, he broke the kiss and slid the ring onto Lilly's finger. "This was the ring that my father gave to my mother when they got engaged," he said, holding onto her hand and looking into her eyes.

Lilly smiled widly, and admired the ring. "It's beautiful." She said simply, but her words full of love. Lilly grinned again. "This will be so awesomeness!" She exclaimed, her childishness taking over. "I can't wait! Do you wanna go to my place? We should start planning as soon as possible. Where should we hold it? who should we invite? When should it be?" Lilly was full of excitement. She didn't really expect Finn to answer, she was just overjoyed.

Finn smiled. "Calm down," he said, reaching over to his backpack and pulling out a bottle of red wine and two wine glasses. He poured some out for the two of them. "To us..." he said, holding up his glass and taking a sip.

"To us!" Lilly said at the same time as Finn, and took a sip. She gasped. "Woah this stuff is good! I don't normally have red whine...just beer or Semion Chardonnay."

Finn smiled. "Here," he said, holding his own wine glass out to Lilly. "Hold this." He stood up and walked over to the nearest tree, pulling out his switch blade. The sun was just starting to disappear over the horizon, so he pulled out a small flashlight and put it in his mouth, holding it between his teeth. He started to carve into the tree...
